Skills

I have a vast amount of experience in web development. I specialize in responsive design which is a pillar of modern web design in a world where over half of all internet traffic is handled by mobile browsers. I design websites from the ground up based on the needs of my client. My abilities range from straightforward static websites, to highly dynamic and user driven platforms. Whether you just want a simple page, or a highly interactible experience, I can create exactly what you need.

I have been developing apps for the various app stores since I was in high school, back in 2011. I have a wealth of experience in publishing apps, and I can get your business or idea in front of an entirely new audience. A sleek and modern website is the foundation of almost any business; however, a mobile application is a highly overlooked opportunity for growth. It gives you the opportunity to live alongside peoples mobile devices to provide them with instant updates and notifications through the use of push notifications.

I co-founded Alurts.net in 2020 after realizing the unfulfilled niche of understandable and actionable stock market analysis for the masses. I develop stock market analysis software that analyzes every reported trade made across all U.S. equity markets in real-time, each and every day. My software is used by traders seeking better financial information to help inform their trading decisions and increase trading success. I also work in development of autonomous algorithmic trading and trading pattern recognition.

AARI is the premier flight school in Reno, Nevada, for earning your private pilot license amongst many other ratings and certificates in a professional and efficient environment. When I first met the owners of this flight school, I discovered how impressive their fleet of planes and instructors were and wanted to work with them right away. I'm such a big fan of their business that I am currently training with them to earn a Private Pilot License

Arena Gaming League

I developed the entire online platform that powered the Arena Gaming League tournaments throughout the duration of Halo 4. That platform spanned from an online portal where people would purchase team passes and manage rosters for the in-person AGL events, to an in-depth statistics tracking system that was used to record players performance at every AGL event. Tournament administrators used my system to input match statistics after every game, as well as used my automated bracketting system to determine match placements after each win/loss. I enjoyed my time supporting the Halo eSports community.

I designed and developed the website for the game Meme Run 2. The development of this website was challenging and extremely rewarding. I built it from the ground up to suit my clients unique needs. This is a great example of how I am able to problem solve and come up with solutions to a design request that seem impossible or extremely challenging, as several effects used on this website were quite original and had to be developed by scratch.

Crowdfunding Complete, Now Hosted Locally For My Portfolio

GitHub Source Code

I developed a crowdfunding page for a Canadian Web Series. The owners of the web series wanted to raise funding for their series independently of popular crowd funding websites such as Kickstarter and Indiegogo, so I was tasked with creating a crowdfunding service independently through their website. They raised several thousand dollars through this platform.

I developed an app for the restaurant Scramblz in San Jose, CA. The application is no longer available as the restaurant was sold by the owner. The app allowed staff to upload new specials and discounts, which would send push notifications to users of the app who opted for them. It helped drive extra business by keeping customers notified of the newest deals and menu options.

It is a family friendly game which provides countless hours of fun for all ages. You play as a fish who starts out tiny, and eats his way up the food chain to be the biggest fish in the sea. About

About Me

My name is Tyler Richards. I'm a freelance web developer and software developer. I grew up in the Bay Area, and moved to Reno, Nevada in 2016. Originally a San Jose State Spartan, I transferred to the University of Nevada, Reno, and pursued a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems. I also have an Associates Degree in Business from Truckee Meadows Community College.

I'm a very engineering minded person who loves to solve problems with elegant technical solutions. I've been programming since I was 12 years old, and I've been developing websites and apps professionally since I was a Senior in high school. I've launched and successfully exited several tech startups, and I'm always looking for the next opportunity to grow my resume and expand my skillset.

In my spare time, I fly a Cessna 172 in training for my Private Pilot License. I'm passionate about aviation, and if not for Computer Science, I would be a full time pilot. I'm an avid gamer, and have a love for understanding all things technology related.

Given my self-taught nature, I'm extremely good at troubleshooting and if anyone can find a way to bring your idea to life through a website or an app, it's me. I have the persistence and the knowledge to get the job done, and give you an end product that you can be proud of. If you're interested in my services, reach out to me in the Contact section and lets talk!
