BETH MA (played by Loretta Yu) – Boldly dealing with life is not her only gig. Kicked out of university for selling weed, she is a 'Jackie of all trades', holding down multiple jobs whilst caring for her mother who has EOFA (early onset familial Alzheimer). She is the antithesis of a typical 2nd generation Chinese girl. Beth’s career potential is unlimited but her life major remains as yet undeclared.


Loretta Yu is a Toronto-based actor, writer and producer. Loretta started her career in Halifax, Nova Scotia and has since appeared in feature films such as Pretend We're Kissing, Nonsense Revolution, and Denis Villeneuve's Enemy. Her television credits include Blood and Water, Between, Degrassi: The Next Generation, The Listener and Hemlock Grove. Loretta has also appeared in numerous short films and commercials for brands such as McDonald's, Wal-Mart, Bell and Rogers. Most recently, Loretta starred in The Company Theatre's production of John by Annie Baker which received rave reviews across all major news outlets in Toronto. Next up she will appear as a recurring character on TVO's Dino Dana as well as CBC's new digital series Save Me. @LaLettreU

Mitch McAuley (played by Ruth Goodwin) – Beth's best friend from high school, she is a journalism grad working in a film production company whose ass-kissing politics have left her cynical and disheartened. Her acerbic demeanor belies a generous heart and kind nature. Mitch feels she has not reached her full potential.


Ruth Goodwin is a Toronto born actor of stage and screen. She has appeared in various film and television productions including Save Me (CBC) Designated Survivor (ABC), Murdoch Mysteries (CBC), Lost Girl (Showcase), Workin’ Moms (CBC) and Ben’s at Home. She is a founding artist of The Howland Theatre Company (currently in residence at Canadian Stage) and Co-Host of Intermission Magazine’s comedic web series The Show Show (which can be viewed here!http://intermissionmagazine.ca/category/videos/the-show-show/) Ruth is also a skilled writer and has been published in The Globe and Mail and across various platforms on CTV. @Ruth_Goodwin

Sofia Moulaud (played by Malube) – The late-comer to the coterie, she is a paralegal who until now has led a surprisingly sheltered life. Sofia realizes she has been living down to other people’s expectations and her new roommates are just the beginning.


Malube is an accomplished actor, writer, producer, director and activist born in Montreal. Recently, Malube’s graced the stages all over the country, as well as our television screens working with television networks such as The CW, ABC and The Family Channel, just to name a few. Malube's also starred in over a dozen short films and commercials within the past few years. Following the success of ‘Grandpa Was Here,’ a short film produced and written by Malube which was screened as part of YEAA (Young Emerging Actors Assembly, ACTRA Toronto’s Youth Committee) Shorts 2015 Programme at the Reelworld Festival; Malube was also granted the opportunity to travel with Watermark Theatre across the country to perform 'Canada 300' in both English and in French along with director Robert Tsonos. During that summer, she was part of the Watermark Theatre's season performing Canada 300 and ‘An Ideal Husband’ playing Lady Chiltern. Currently, Malube is in preproduction for a film ‘Raising The Bar,” which she will be directing. She is also co-creating a web series with her cousin, actress Mamito Kukwikila.
